13 Moves of Wheel Chair Tai Chi (Stationary)
For better learning experience we divided the whole form into four sections the first section contains the following three moves commencing, parting the wild horses mane on both sides, brush knee and push on both sides and single whip.
Section 1
Commencing Form
Make sure that your lower back is pressed firmly into the chair and that your body is upright with the head held high as if suspended by thread from above. inhale and with your elbows and hands relax slow down with both arms straight out from your side and then roll them around toward the front at shoulder height. gently exhale if you drop your elbows and lift the fingertips slightly upward as you press downward in a arcing motion.
Parting the Wild Horse’s Mane (Right)
Separate the hands while turning toward the left with the left arm rising as the right arm scoops across the thighs and under the left elbow as if holding a ball. turn back to the right as the left arm drops to the hip and the right arm swings out in a big circle upward and outward with the right palm facing in and the left arm facing down.
Parting the Wild Horse’s Mane (Left)
roll the right palm downward as you turn to the right with the left arm skooping across the thighs and under the right elbow as if holding a ball. turn back to the left as the right arm drops to the hip and left arm swings out in a big circle upward and outward with the right palm facing in and the left palm facing down.
Brush Knee and Push Right Hand
turn right with the left arm Crossing in front of your face as it turns palm down next to the right elbow as the right arm extends with the right palm rolling upward. Bring your right palm toward your right ear turn toward the left and brush your right hand outward as you sweep your left palm downward across your knees outside your left hip.
Brush Knee and Push Left Hand
roll the right palm down next to the left elbow as you extend the left arm out the left side and rolled the Palm upward bring your left palm toward your left ear turn toward the right and push your left hand outward as you sweep you’re right palm downward across your knees outside your right hip.
Single Whip
swing both arms and the body to the left and with the left palm facing out and the right palm turning inward dropping across the thighs before it rises toward the left elbow. turn back to the right with the left Palm descending inward across the thighs as the right arm crosses the face with the palm rolling downward to shoulder height on the right side. form a hook with your right hand, roll the palm of the left hand upward and around to the left eventually turning and sinking the left wrist at shoulder height forming a knife edge on the left side.
Section 2
Transitional Move
Turn right with both Palms facing out and reverse the direction back to the left with a sweeping “S” turn rotating the palms over as you reverse directions back toward the center and separate the hands outward as you lower the Palms downward.
Grasp the Bird’s Tail (Right Side)
turn to the right as you lift both arms upward. roll the left palm over as you pull downward and back toward the left side. Sliding both hands across your thighs and outside your left hip. Then turning back towards the center bend your right elbow and place your left palm against the inside of your right wrist. Press both hands forward and expand outward, while maintaining a circular form with your arms. Extend your elbows, separate your arms and roll the palms down as you bring both hands back towards your chest. Drop the hands downward, and in a rolling motion push them forward and upward back to shoulder height with the Palms facing outward and the elbows relaxed.
Grasp the Bird’s Tail (Left Side)
Turn left and roll the right hand Palm up as you roll the left hand Palm down and pull downward and back toward the right sliding both hands across your thighs and outside your right hip. And turning back toward the Center Bend your left elbow and place your right Palm against the inside of your left wrist. Press both hands forward, and expand outward while maintaining a circular form with your arms. As you extend your elbow separate your arms and roll The Palms down .as you bring both arms back towards your chest. drop the hands downward, and in a rolling motion push them forward and upward to shoulder height with the Palms facing outward and elbows relaxed.
Grasp the Bird’s Tail (Right Side)
Relax The Palms and make a tight roll left followed by a big turn to the right with the Palms facing down. Bend your left arm in front of your chest and drop your right arm while rolling your palm up next to your right hip. As you turn back towards the front, shoot your right hand straight up in front of your body with the Palm facing inward and lower your left arm pressing down. Lift your right elbow as you roll your right palm upward and outward to the right while pressing your left palm down and out toward your left hip.
Heaven and Earth (Left Side)
In a circular motion bring your right arm down and your left arm up while turning slightly to the right and then with both Palms facing downward make a big circle to the left as the left hand gradually drops. Bend your right arm in front of your chest and roll your left palm up next to your left hip. As you turn back toward the front shoot your left hand straight up in front of your body with the Palm facing inward and lower your right arm pressing down. Lift your left elbow as you roll your left palm upward and outward toward the left while pressing your right palm down, and out toward your right hip.
Fist Under Elbow
Lower the left arm and raise the right arm until both are at shoulder height with the Palms facing down. Lower the left arm to the left hip, as you roll the left palm up. Bend the right arm towards the chest and form a fist with the right hand. Shoot the left hand up and outward rolling the Palm inward as you sink the left wrist and Slide the right fist under the left elbow.
Section 3 (7:52 in video)
Transitional Move
Turn right with the left arm crossing the face as the right arm rolls palm up. Swing back to the left with the right arm crossing the face, and the left palm sweeping outward. Lower the right palm down and swing back to the right as you gently separate the arms outward and let the palms settle downward.
Hide Hands and Strike Fist
Lift the arms straight out from your sides to shoulder height while turning the palms inward and in a cutting motion bring the arms to the front at shoulder width and then slowly pull the left arm back while leaving the right arm extended. Form a fist with your left hand and punch straight out over the top of your right hand rolling the fist over. Form a fist with your right hand and draw back to your abdomen palm up.
White Crane Spreads Wings
Relax and open both fists while turning left and extending the right arm outward as you bend the left arm toward the chest, palm down. Turn right and swing the right arm outward and upward as you swing the left arm to the right downward. Roll the right palm forward and sink the wrist as the left arm settles outside your left hip, with the palm down.
Deflect, Parry and Punch
Turn right and lower the right arm palm down toward the right hip while rolling the left arm palm up directly in front of the left shoulder. Turn left, and slide the right arm across the chest palm down as you pull the left arm back toward your abdomen palm up. Turn forward as the right arm extends and the left sweeps toward the left hip. Lift the left arm out to the side as you close the fist of the right hand and pull it in toward the left armpit. Roll the right fist upward and outward, extending it directly in front, palm up as the left hand lowers to a point just inside the right elbow. Roll the fist over and downward to the right as the left palm swings inward and out to the left. Turn right, and swing the right fist palm up on to the right hip, as the left arm swings out and directly in front of the left shoulder, palm vertical and the wrist sinking downward. Punch directly outward, with the right fist toward the inside of the retreating left hand, and roll the right fist upright as you extend it past the left hand with the left palm resting just inside the right elbow.
Section 4 (10:48)
Apparent Close Up
Turn the left palm up and slide it under the right elbow as you open the right fist palm up and extend both arms outward. Draw the arms back towards your chest and in a circular motion roll the palms over, downward, and back up to shoulder height with the palms facing out.
Needle to the Bottom of the Ocean
Turn left and lower the left arm palm up as you cross the face with the right hand turning the palm down next to the left elbow. Turn back to the right crossing the face with left hand as the right hand slides across the thighs toward the right hip. Turn the left palm down and as your draw the right hand upward toward your ear with the fingers pointing downward. Turn back to the left and drive the right hand down in front of your knees while sliding the left hand out to the left side.
Flash Arms
Turn right, rolling the right hand outward and upward toward the forehead while pulling the left hand in toward the chest. Press the left palm outward at shoulder height in a arcing motion with the wrist sinking down and continue to expand your right palm upward in front of your forehead.
Transitional Move
Turn right, as you lower the right arm straight out to the right side and slide the left hand palm inward toward the right elbow. Turn to the left, and cross the face with left palm as you lower the right arm and slide it across the thighs rolling the palm inward and out to the left elbow. Turn back to the right, and cross the face with the right palm as you slide the left palm hand across the thighs rolling the palm inward and out to the right elbow. Swing the left arm upward and over the head to the left side as you turn back to the center and lower both arms gently downward.
Bend Bow to Shoot Tiger
Turn left, and lift both arms with the palms down and the elbows relaxed, and lower the arms and turn both palms outward as you slide the arms downward to the right. Slide the palms across the thighs and extend outward and upward to the right side. Form a fist with both hands and lift the right arm over head as you turn to the left and punch with left fist outward and slightly forward.
Closing Form
Turn toward the center as you open both fists and with a cutting motion roll the palms up and bring the arms around to the front at shoulder width. Pull the hands inward toward the abdomen and roll the elbows outward until the fingertips nearly touch. Bring the arms straight out to the side, roll the palms downward, and with a circular motion roll them around to the front at shoulder height and with the palms down and elbows relaxed. Gently exhale as you drop your elbows, and lift the fingertips slightly upward as you press downward in a arcing motion, allowing the hands to fully rest at your sides.
